A royal city, a port city, a seaside resort, this is a multi-faceted city that offers all year round, a program of colorful festivities: Andalusian festival, St John's festivals, Tuna festival, International Professional Cesta Punta, Music in the Basque Coast, triathlons, International Film Festival ... The city is in constant motion, especially during Ravel lovers will be happy to know that Saint-Jean-de-Luz is now holding a festival in honor of the composer. The first edition, which took place from August 27 to September 17, 2017, offered no less than 17 concerts on the Basque Coast, also marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Ravel Academy and the 80th anniversary of Ravel's death. As for the sport, Saint-Jean-de-Luz offers to the passionate about beach sports, the Bocathlon. This triathlon revisited takes place in July with a single challenge for everyone spanning the same day. After 700 meters of swimming in the heart of the bay, participants have to walk 1,500 meters in the sand, along the sea with several obstacles to overcome before finishing on a paddle of 2,000 meters. Nice program!
And for everyone, the holidays follow one another all year round. At the Andalusian Festival, which takes place every year during the Pentecost weekend, Saint-Jean-de-Luz takes on the colors of Spain, punctuating its days and nights with the sound of Andalusian music and dance. In June, it is the Tuna Feast for all the gastronomes, in July, the Feast of July 14th, the release of the lanterns on August 4th ... And so many others!
